LGBTQ+ Stories You Should Know About
Live from the Democratic National Convention
In July, Vice President Kamala Harris [[link removed]] officially became the nominee for the Democratic party. We joined many in celebrating her historic nomination [[link removed]] , as well as her notable commitment to LGBTQ+ equality and the continued advancement of LGBTQ+ voices in her potential administration [[link removed]] . A record number of LGBTQ+ delegates attended the Convention this year [[link removed]] .
And with the Democratic National Convention in full swing, LGBTQ+ voices are loud and proud on the main stage. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg [[link removed]] , Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey [[link removed]] , Colorado Governor Jared Polis [[link removed]] , U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin [[link removed]] , U.S. Senator Laphonza Butler [[link removed]] , Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel [[link removed]] , U.S Congressman Robert Garcia [[link removed]] , Pennsylvania State Representative Malcolm Kenyatta [[link removed]] and more LGBTQ+ leaders graced the stage, bringing attention to LGBTQ+ equality and the fight to preserve our democracy.
But the highlight of the DNC – in our humble opinion – was when LGBTQ+ Victory Institute inducted the honorable Pete Buttigieg [[link removed]] into the LGBTQ+ Political Hall of Fame at our Victory at the DNC event [[link removed]] ! Together with LGBTQ+ leaders, elected officials, allies and celebrities like Zachary Quinto and Wilson Cruz [[link removed]] , we celebrated LGBTQ+ political power and our communities’ impending victory in 2024 [[link removed]] .
