"The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble."
– Psalm 9:9
Africa & Europe
Praise God for the educational progress made by five survivors, supported by IJM Ghana, since being brought to safety from labor trafficking. Three recently sat for their national Basic Education Certificate Examination, and two are preparing for the national West African Senior Certificate Examination. Pray for their success in reaching the next level of their education. It is a great joy to see these survivors, who spent much of their childhood out of school, now able to work hard to reach this level.
Latin America
Praise God for the participation of Phoenix, the Bolivia survivor network, in two special activities that commemorated the International Day of Solidarity with victims of sexual violence. Phoenix members prepared a special presentation based on the stories of several survivors of violence, and IJM presented the results of a recent study on violence against women and children. Pray that God will use the event to move in the heart of government officials, police officers and other authorities so that they will feel compelled to protect women and children from sexual and physical violence.
South Asia
Praise God for a successful rescue operation last week that freed eight boys from trafficking at a restaurant. These young teens were forced to work from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day in "inhumane" conditions. They were never allowed to leave or contact their families. We are grateful for quick action from local police to free them, and ask your ongoing prayers for their recovery and return home.

Praise God for recent media coverage about IJM’s work in the Philippines!

The CNN Freedom Project recently featured Samson Inocencio, the national director of IJM Philippines, as he spoke about IJM’s anti-trafficking work in the region. We praise God for the rescue of more than 1,300 victims through over 400 rescues to date. We continue to pray for increased awareness about this crime so that no individual would be able to turn a blind eye.
IJM Global Office & Partners
The IJM global office is located in the United States. IJM has Partner Offices in Australia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, South Korea, Switzerland, Singapore, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
We pray for the health and wellbeing of our colleagues around the globe. With many noting an increase in sickness this season, we ask for protection and swift recovery for those affected, as well as strength and resilience as they balance their work and family responsibilities.
The updates we share on survivors or their cases can become sensitive over time. To respect and protect them, please refrain from posting these prayer requests online.
