Hey John, it’s Jon Hamm.

There’s an important U.S. Senate race happening in my home state this year that I think you need to know about.

So before I ask you to chip in toward my friend Lucas Kunce’s campaign to defeat Josh Hawley and flip Missouri’s U.S. Senate seat, please let me explain why no one can afford to sit on the sidelines in this race.

DEFEAT JOSH HAWLEY

Let’s start at the beginning. When I first got to know Lucas, his story resonated with me. He’s a born-and-raised Missourian who knows the real value of community — helping each other out, for better or for worse.

Growing up, his parents went bankrupt from his youngest sister’s medical bills and his family survived on the support of their friends and neighbors. After getting to college on a Pell Grant, Lucas decided to join the U.S. Marine Corps to honor the community that had given his family so much. He served for 13 years, including three deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan before later being stationed at the Pentagon.

Once he left active duty, Lucas turned his focus to the corrupt politicians and corporate monopolies that dominate our economy and squeeze small businesses. He took on everyone from Big Tech and Big Ag to defense contractors and pharmaceutical companies.

Now, Lucas is running to defeat January 6th coward Josh Hawley and take back Missouri’s U.S. Senate seat for real, everyday people.

ELECT LUCAS KUNCE

Let’s just be clear here: Hawley’s January 6th cowardice isn’t the only reason he’s incapable of representing my home state.

Since he was elected to office, Josh Hawley hasn’t fought to bring even $0.01 back to our communities — but he’s had plenty of time to make money for himself.

Business Insider excerpt about Hawley's profits from book sales: The Missouri senator's annual financial disclosure, filed last week, indicated that he made $127,500 from book royalties in 2023. It is unclear whether that sum includes an advance for Hawley's forthcoming book or also includes composed of royalties from the senator's previous books. In 2021, Hawley made $467,000 in book royalties. Headlines from KC Star and Missourinet about Hawley's refusal to invest in Missouri.

While giant corporations strip our state of opportunity and jack up prices, Hawley is only focused on enriching himself. He’s made hundreds of thousands of dollars more than his congressional salary by selling his weird book all about "Manhood."

All this, while he made taxpayers cover the cost of his own lawbreaking.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch headline: MO taxpayers paid more than $250,000 for Josh Hawley's open records violations.

Missouri can’t afford another six years of Hawley in the Senate, John, and voters of all stripes seem to agree.

Morning Consult reported that Josh Hawley has the lowest approval rating of any Republican incumbent up for re-election this November. And even Hawley’s own former mentor, Missouri’s three-term Republican U.S. Senator Jack Danforth, said supporting Hawley was “the worst decision I’ve ever made in my life.”

After spending a whole year consolidating support from workers, community leaders, and organizations across Missouri, Lucas Kunce has more than proved that he has what it takes to win this race. Multiple polls even confirm he’s in a dead heat with Hawley. That’s why I’m asking for your help, John:

Will you join me in supporting my friend Lucas Kunce by chipping in $10 or more today? With so much at stake in this election — and with a race this close — no one can afford to sit on the sidelines.

Lucas won’t be another shady, corrupt politician. He’s put his money where his mouth is since day one — refusing to accept any money from corporate PACs, federal lobbyists, or Big Oil and Big Pharma executives.

He’s running to be a real warrior for working Missourians, unbeholden to anyone other than the everyday people who elected him to office.

Lucas will fight for investment in our state — rebuilding forgotten communities, creating jobs, and empowering workers. He’ll stand up to the attacks on reproductive rights by controlling politicians like Hawley. He’ll work to end the corporate grip on power in our country, by banning insider trading and abolishing corporate PACs. And he’ll be accountable to real, everyday Missourians.

I can’t tell you how excited I am about everything we’ll be able to accomplish in Missouri with Lucas fighting for us in the Senate, John. But if we’re going to take advantage of this historic opportunity, Lucas urgently needs your help.

So please, will you chip in $10 right now so we can get Lucas’ unifying message in front of voters, defeat Josh Hawley, and flip Missouri’s Senate seat this year? Lucas is running a truly grassroots campaign, so anything you’re able to give really does make a big impact.
