Dear Supporter,
While Canadians are hurting, members of Parliament got a $3,700 raise this April . Now they make $182,600.
We asked members of Parliament to donate their raises to charity. To date, over 200 MPs have confirmed they’re doing the right thing. But that’s not enough.
Around the world, political leaders are taking pay cuts. In New Zealand, the Prime Minister and her cabinet cut their pay cheques by 20 per cent. In Japan, all lawmakers followed suit. In India, lawmakers went even further, cutting their salaries by 30 per cent. Our elected officials need to be held to the same standard.
That is why we need your help.
Please sign our petition asking federal MPs to cut their salaries. After all, if everyday Canadians are expected to make sacrifices in this time of crisis, our elected representatives should lead the way.

Thank you for all you do. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as this campaign develops in the coming weeks. In the meantime, stay safe and stay healthy!
Sincerely,
- Renaud, Shannon, Todd and the entire CTF team
P.S.: Unlike politicians in Ottawa, we can’t just hike taxes to fund ourselves. We rely solely on voluntary contributions from Canadians like you who believe in our mission of lower taxes, less waste and accountable governments. Please consider chipping in at https://www.taxpayer.com/donate
P.P.S.: We just launched the Canadian Taxpayers Podcast to give our supporters an online audio show that dives into important taxpayer issues and makes fun of politicians who waste money. You can subscribe for free by clicking this LINK.
