Did you catch Elizabeth’s speech at the Democratic National Convention last night?

Elizabeth spoke about why Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are the candidates we can trust to look out for our families — and why Donald Trump and JD Vance aren't. (As Elizabeth put it: she wouldn't even trust them to move her couch.)

And the reception in the room is a testament to our progressive movement we’ve built together for big, structural change. Our fight for bold ideas like a two-cent wealth tax, student debt cancellation, taking on big corporations, and confronting corruption in Washington head-on.

From creating the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, to defeating a popular Republican incumbent and getting elected to the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts in 2012, to launching a campaign for president in 2019 built on ideas and progressive values, to helping elect Warren Democrats up and down the ballot and across the country, to now standing up against corporate megadonors who want to buy this Senate seat in 2024, our movement has taken on plenty of fights in plenty of forms.

And throughout them all, we’ve always fought to put power in the hands of working people. We’ve shown that we can use the power of government to transform people’s lives. From canceling $168.5 billion in student debt so far to passing a minimum tax on massive corporations that were paying $0 in taxes, we’ve proven that bold ideas can be transformed into real policies and real change is possible — when we organize and when we fight.

As Elizabeth says: “Choose to fight only righteous fights, because then when things get tough — and they will — you will know that there is only one option ahead of you: nevertheless, you must persist.”

This is a powerful moment in our democracy — and last night showed how so many volunteers, grassroots donors, and Democratic supporters are fired up to get in this fight. It's time to keep channeling that energy.
