Hello, Friends —

This week, following trips I have made to the southern border and meetings with immigration officials and federal judges, I introduced the “Allocating Liability to Illegal Entrants in National Courts (ALIEN) Act.” My bill would fully empower federal judges to award restitution to victims who have suffered harm to person or property from illegal immigrants.

The Biden-Harris administration has let in millions of illegal immigrants and created a migrant crime epidemic. Therefore, the need to ensure that Americans are able to seek redress for the harmful actions of illegal immigrants is necessary now more than ever. Americans deserve the possibility of compensation for the pain they have endured due to the open-borders policies of this administration!

REP. GAETZ ISSUES STATEMENT ON HOUSE IMPEACHMENT INQUIRY INTO JOE BIDEN

On Monday, the House of Representatives Committees on Oversight and Reform, Judiciary, and Ways and Means issued a report on the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. The details of this report show overwhelming evidence that Joe Biden actively took part in an influence-peddling scheme throughout his entire time in office to enrich his family and associates, and lied about it the whole time.

Meanwhile, Kamala Harris and the Democrats have refused to cooperate with congressional oversight and assured the public that Joe Biden was honorable and competent. As a member of the Judiciary Committee, I understand that we have much more work to do to assess how much Kamala Harris and other senior White House officials knew about the corruption of Joe Biden, when they knew it, and what role they took in covering up for the empty suit sitting in the Oval Office.

Everyone needs to make sure your voices are heard at the upcoming state park public meetings in the area as listed above. If you are unable to make a meeting, please email [email protected]

As of this week, my office has returned more than $20 MILLION to Northwest Floridians in this year alone! We have additionally resolved more than 1,500 cases with issues involving federal agencies, such as the IRS, VA, USCIS, passports, and SBA.

I look forward to continuing this work and doing whatever I can to assist the great people of Northwest Florida.

SENIOR INTERN PROGRAM

I understand that our senior citizens have valuable life experiences that can serve as a tremendous asset to any organization. As such, I am excited to announce an opening for a Fall Senior Congressional Internship!

Every 12 weeks, my office will select an approved senior intern to work in my local Crestview office. In addition to learning about the role of a congressional office, senior interns will be asked to assist permanent congressional team members with a variety of tasks, including responding to constituent requests, writing letters, and assisting with day-to-day functions in the district office. Interns also assist staff with specific district-based projects, special events, and outreach activities.

Eligible applicants must be 55 or older, live within the district, and be willing to work no more than 20 hours per week in the congressional office for the duration of September-January. Senior interns will receive a small stipend for their service.

Please send your resume and cover letter to [email protected].

Victims hurt by criminal migrants could see restitution under new Matt Gaetz measure

“Florida’s Rep. Matt Gaetz is set to unveil a controversial bill this week aimed at empowering federal judges to award damages to victims harmed by illegal immigrants, a proposal that could redefine the legal landscape for immigration-related offenses. The bill, dubbed the Allocating Liability to Illegal Entrants in National Courts (ALIEN) Act, would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act. The 1952 law has undergone many amendments over the years and lays out the legal foundation for U.S. immigration policy, including the procedures for visa issuance, admission, deportation and naturalization.”

DeSantis administration plan to develop parks draws rare bipartisan opposition

“In a rare show of bipartisan resistance, the administration of Gov. Ron DeSantis is running into opposition over a newly-announced plan to add golf courses and lodging to several renowned Florida parks. The proposal quickly triggered criticism not just from environmental groups but also from leading Republican political figures, including Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson, Senate President Kathleen Passidomo and Rep. Matt Gaetz.”
