Throws Kamala under the bus

Hi John,

I've just published a new blog post:

Last night, Kamala Harris was on and off the stage in a near-record 37 minutes. The brevity and absence of substance was in keeping with the campaign’s theme: no primaries, no votes, no questions, no interviews.

But inside the supposedly “joyful” Convention Hall, one person was stewing: Gavin Newsom. As even California’s lieutenant governor got a turn on stage, Newsom’s only role was to yell into a microphone from the Floor for two minutes (far outside primetime).

It was one thing to have his entire plan to replace Biden fizzle in an instant. But this indignity – a recognition of his toxicity, a punishment for his scheming – was too much. His bitterness boiling over, Newsom went on “Pod Save America” to throw Kamala under the bus.

In the interview, he confirmed the obvious: the process by which Kamala replaced Biden was a sham. With unmistakable sarcasm, he called it “very open,” “very inclusive,” and “bottom up.” To make sure no one missed the point, Newsom added: “that’s what I’ve been told to say.”

It won’t be long before he’s “told” to stop doing interviews. In another appearance, he admitted homelessness has exploded because of “our own policies and neglect.” A state audit, which I originally requested, found Newsom “lost track” of $24 billion in homelessness spending.

In another gaffe, Newsom absurdly said Prop. 47 is “tougher” than theft laws in Texas. As he leads the Keep 47 campaign, Newsom’s island of delusion keeps shrinking; polls show our anti-47 initiative has the overwhelming support of Republicans, Independents, and Democrats.

As to Kamala, we’re told: She was San Francisco’s DA yet has nothing to do with the city’s collapse. She was California’s AG yet has nothing to do with the state’s decline. She was America’s border czar yet has nothing to do with the ongoing crisis. This act simply can’t last.
