Young angler sets new tiger trout record
Tiger trout state record
Jaxon Krall is a soft-spoken 13-year-old from Kemmerer. He’s also a state-record holder. Krall set the new tiger trout record in late July when he landed a big one from Viva Naughton Reservoir outside of Kemmerer. Krall shattered the previous record of 11.93 pounds, which also was caught at Viva Naughton by Owen Schaad of Cheyenne in 2023. *See the new benchmark and get some tips from the Game and Fish fisheries supervisor in the Green River Region on how to catch a tiger trout of your own. Adjust fishing practices for heat
Fly angler wading in river
Due to increasing air temperatures across Wyoming, some of the state’s streams and rivers are flowing at warmer temperatures. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is asking anglers to *adjust fishing practices [ [link removed] ]* during the state’s hottest stretch of summer. Warmer water temperatures can affect fish survival, especially Wyoming’s trout.
