Helping You Discern the Issues That Matter

Dear John,

In these challenging times, you would hope that elected leaders could put aside their agendas and prioritize the needs of the American people first. But that's just too much to ask.

Over the last two months, we have seen liberals in Congress trying to take advantage of the coronavirus crisis. House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) said of the first emergency relief bill: "This is a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision."

The Left says that they care about American workers, but then held up the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act while they attempted to insert millions for their pet projects.

As families and businesses were hurting, liberal politicians' priorities included:

  • carbon emission mandates,
  • visa extensions for immigrants,
  • a postal bailout,
  • corporate pay equity,
  • the return of "Obamaphones," and more!

Analysis from FRC experts helps leaders on Capitol Hill -- and citizens in the heartland -- navigate beyond the half-truths and outright lies that dominate so much of current media and politics.

But we can only provide this essential analysis with the unwavering support of members like you, John!

SUPPORT THE MISSION

Possibly worst of all is that, at a time when Americans should be focused on saving lives, the Left was busy trying to protect the abortion industry's ability to take them.

While they were attacking President Trump's response to this unprecedented situation, the Left shamelessly tried to pad the pockets of Planned Parenthood with your tax dollars.

They even claim abortion centers operate as "essential services;" apparently, killing babies can't take a day off.

It's ironic to see pro-abortion New York Governor Andrew Cuomo tweet that "We will fight to save every life we can." Tragically, he celebrated last year's extreme Reproductive Health Act -- that expanded abortion up to the day of birth and denies medical care to babies who survive an abortion -- by lighting up the One World Trade Center's spire in pink.

Sadly, none of this is shocking. Over the last 37 years as FRC has advanced faith, family, and freedom in public policy and the culture, we have become all too familiar with how the Left operates.

They "never let a crisis go to waste," sneaking their unpopular policies into massive bills when Americans are distracted, and hiding their agendas through deceptive language.

Engaged citizens understand the Left is spinning a false narrative. The antidote to rampant progressivism is a return to limited government that honors life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

The difficulty is, faithful advocates who believe in first principles must understand all the complex, confusing ways that the government has become bloated in order to right the ship of state. FRC experts have served in public policy positions and know the strategies lawmakers employ.

Your support is needed today to ensure our experts have the resources to keep biblical values advancing as FRC is on the front lines.

ADVANCE YOUR VALUES

We want you to be able to focus on taking care of your family, so we are working hard on your behalf behind the scenes with the Trump administration, on Capitol Hill, and in the states to defend life, families, and religious liberty.

Through cunning language, the Left obscures their push for policies the public doesn't want. Nowhere is this more obvious than taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion supplier.

Regarding the views of Americans on abortion, public opinion research has been clear and consistent. A January poll showed 75 percent of Americans are against federal funds paying for abortion overseas. Further, a majority also oppose taxpayer money funding abortions in the U.S.

This has not deterred the Left. Planned Parenthood has shrewdly lobbied federal and state lawmakers to develop many streams of funding. One bill or presidential order cannot cut it all. Research group Charlotte Lozier Institute lists over a dozen distinct budget areas where Planned Parenthood receives funding such as agriculture, education, and homeland security.

In January, Planned Parenthood's most recent annual report showed that its abortion centers received a record $617 million in federal and state tax dollars during their last fiscal year.

We've had enough, and apparently so has President Trump.

Last summer, his administration announced the Protect Life Rule, which prohibits Title X family planning grants from going to sites that provide abortions or refer their patients for abortions.

Rather than comply with the rule, Planned Parenthood chose to back out of the program altogether, forfeiting over $16 million in grants and possibly millions more. Moving forward, this will significantly curb the grisly abortion industry.

FRC stands strong for life -- advocating for moral, life-saving policies grounded in the facts. We can only help spread the truth to lawmakers thanks to supporters like you!

Will you help us continue spread the message with a generous gift of $25, $50, $100, or more?

We cannot and we will not stop speaking up for defenseless lives. To continue and accelerate these pro-life victories, we must educate, equip, and engage Christians.

We realize that many people are hurting at this time, so please do not feel pressure to give. However, if you are in a position where you would like to make up for someone who can't give by increasing your donation at this time, that would go a long way.

In this critical season, we are stretching your best gift to impact diverse audiences! Your partnership helps our "Washington Watch" radio program reach a coverage area of millions of listeners. And, your support is helping us develop and distribute biblical worldview-based educational material.

Only with your support can FRC ramp up our media presence in 2020 -- from our live daily radio show, to frequent cable news appearances, to an increasing outreach to churches. We appreciate so much your faithful stand with us. Thank you!
