Dear John, I am proud to have secured funding for over a dozen community funding projects in and around Riverside County. Last week, I delivered checks to four of those projects with a combined total of $4.5 million in funding. | Left to Right: Rep. Mark Takano, Councilmember Leslie Altamirano, Mayor Guillermo Silva, Councilmember Chris Barajas | I joined leaders from Jurupa Valley to deliver funding that will curb illegal dumping. The $150,000 secured will be used to purchase and install 10 cameras, which will improve the security in parts of Jurupa Valley. | I met with Riverside Mayor Patricia Lock Dawson to present funding secured for the renovation of the Historic Armory Building in Fairmount Park. Together, we toured the project site and saw for myself the future impact of this federal funding. I am looking forward to seeing how a refreshed armory building can be the centerpiece of a new cultural and artistic hub in Riverside.
| Left to Right: Mayor Michael Vargas, Rep. Mark Takano, Councilmember Marisela Nava | I joined the mayor of Perris, Michael Vargas, at the Perris Senior Center to deliver funding to renovate their kitchen and multipurpose room. This $1.6 million will be used to increase the capacity of the center to conduct health and wellness training and workshops for the senior community in Perris. Not only that, but the City of Perris also received $200,000 for public safety body cameras and software. Delivering for the Inland Empire is one of the greatest rewards of serving in Congress. I will continue to deliver funding for a variety of projects to make a difference in our community. | Sign up for my newsletter to get updates on this issue and others! | Washington DC 2078 Rayburn House Office Building Washington, DC 20515 p 202.225.2305 f 202.225.7018 | Riverside County 3403 10th Street, Suite 610 Riverside, CA 92501 p 951.222.0203 f 951.222.0217 | |
