Dear Friend, After covering up the cognitive decline of President Biden for the last three and a half years, the Democratic party forced him off the presidential ticket and replaced him with Vice President Kamala Harris. Biden has never been in charge of national policy, and what the nation has endured during his administration is basically the third term of Barack Obama. If Kamala Harris is elected president, the nation will suffer a fourth Obama term. As we have witnessed these last three and a half years, the Democratic party is the party of open borders, high inflation, and increased crime. So while the Democrat party bosses may change the name on the Democrat presidential ticket, the policies will be the same, and more than likely, become worse. My House Republican colleagues and I have been working to counteract the policies of the Biden-Harris administration and House Democrats that have made the cost of living so high that millions of Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck and struggling to make ends meet. We are working to lower energy costs so American families can afford their groceries, gas for their cars, and their household utility bills to cool their homes during the summer and heat them in the winter. I have worked for major reforms to the regulations imposed by the Biden-Harris administration. These regulations have cost the average American family more than an additional $15,000 per year for goods and services. The Biden-Harris insane energy policies, the trillions in new government spending, and the historic increase in regulatory costs are what have made the cost of living so much higher and forced an unprecedented rise in family credit card debt. I have introduced twenty-two Congressional Review Act resolutions to revoke Biden-Harris regulations. In addition, Biden-Harris have intentionally failed to secure our borders. Not only are all of my Republican colleagues very concerned about the millions Biden and Harris have allowed to enter our country illegally, but we are especially concerned about potential terrorists who have entered and are now hiding. No matter what Harris may say about her role in leaving the border open and our national security at risk, she was the "Border Czar" and is responsible for the crime and mayhem people have suffered because of it. Sincerely, Gary Palmer Holding the Secret Service Accountable It has been over a month since there was an assassination attempt on former President Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania. Due to the utter failure of the United States Secret Service to secure the premises, President Trump was shot and an innocent man lost his life. I took part in the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability’s hearing questioning Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle. She finally resigned from her position, but the American people deserve answers for the agency’s failure. I promise to continue to push for accountability. Protecting Our Elections Only American citizens should be able to vote in American elections. It may seem simple, but Democrats are actually opposing efforts to ensure that only citizens are able to vote. Especially at a time when illegal immigrants are crossing our borders at record rates, we must ensure only legal citizens are deciding who is representing them. I was proud to be an original co-sponsor and vote to pass the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act that, if passed by the Senate, will require that every state requires proof of citizenship in order to register to vote. Read my statement here Watch my floor remarks here Standing with Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, addressed a joint session of Congress. In a very visible indication of how the Democratic Party has aligned itself with Hamas against Israel, about a third of the Democrat members of Congress boycotted Netanyahu’s speech. In addition, Vice President Kamala Harris refused to attend. The conduct of the Democrats during Netanyahu’s speech was a very clear indication that they are more aligned with the extreme anti-Israel members of Congress than they are with one of our most important and closest allies in the world. As a member of House Republican leadership, I was honored to serve as part of the escort committee to welcome Prime Minister Netanyahu to the United States House of Representatives. Prior to his speech, I reminded him that in 1943, Alabama became the very first state to recognize Israel as a sovereign nation.
