Justice Democrats

John,

The 2024 Democratic National Convention concluded in Chicago yesterday with the Democratic Party refusing to invite a single Palestinian American to speak on the main stage despite the Uncommitted Movement's courageous efforts. This is a moral failure, and the Party must do better.

Justice Democrats Rashida Tlaib, Summer Lee, Ilhan Omar, Cori Bush, Jamaal Bowman, AOC, Ayanna Pressley, and Delia Ramirez called on Party leadership to emulate its values and give Palestinians a voice at this historic moment, standing in solidarity with Uncommitted delegates and the hundreds of thousands of voters they represent.

“The folks who are voicing their concerns about Gaza, they’re voicing their grief, their fear. They want to know the party is going to hear them, to see them, and say that this big tent includes you too.” — Summer Lee on Uncommitted Movement delegates’ treatment at DNC.

Our members have led on calling for a ceasefire from the start, and now an arms embargo with Israel. These policies are not only popular — polls indicate they’re crucial to helping Democrats defeat Donald Trump in key swing states this November.

There is no excuse or justification for the lack of Palestinian representation at this week’s convention, and we will not rest until the Party listens to the majority of its voters and acts accordingly.

The convention may be over, but we continue to call for:

If you’re with us and our progressive leaders in Congress fighting to save the soul of the Democratic Party, consider pitching in a grassroots contribution of $5 or more today to fuel our work in the days ahead.

Contribute $5

We are disappointed, but we will not be discouraged or distraught. Our collective fight for peace and human rights for ALL people must go on.

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
