Dakota County
Dakota County continues to work on County Road 63 (Delaware Avenue) from Mendota Road to Marie Avenue in front of Two Rivers High School. The project adds a trail on the West St. Paul side of Delaware Avenue and includes a pedestrian refuge near the school exit access point. This project has a completion date of October 11, 2024. Dakota County, West St. Paul and Mendota Heights will also begin the design process to reconstruct Delaware Avenue from Marie Avenue to Dodd Road. Residents near this corridor will receive a mailing in the next week.
Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT)
MnDOT will be replacing the guardrails on the north side of the Mendota Bridge. This project is expected to extend three months and will require a closure of the pedestrian/bicycle portion of the bridge. MnDOT is also proposing to rehabilitate the pedestrian/bicycle trails along Highway 13 from Acacia Drive to the Mendota Bridge. MnDOT will also begin work on I-494 from 24th Avenue to Pilot Knob Road. An emergency closure of Highway 13 from Wachtler Avenue to Sylvandale Road was unplanned this summer. MnDOT is working on having a contractor complete repairs by November 1, 2024.
