My name is Dr. Tita Gray and I am honored to have been selected as a Board Member of Muslims for Progressive Values earlier this year.
As an expert in diversity, equity, and inclusion, I know firsthand how important MPV is to supporting the humanistic values of people whose rights to dignity are being stripped nationally and internationally. When I took Shahada, I felt close to Allah but lost when it came to having a Muslim community. Not only did MPV provide me with a sense of belonging from D.C. to Los Angeles, but President Ani Zonneveld personally provided invaluable information and resources to help me along my journey to Islam.
I value the advocacy that MPV provides for women and LGBTQIA+ rights, the separation of religion and state, and freedom of conscience. In addition, MPV provides an alternative progressive voice to these issues by participating in civil discourse, engaging with the media and government entities, with public educational forums and cultural events, and partnering with both Muslim and non-Muslim progressive organizations.
If you'd like to join me in supporting MPV's future, please consider celebrating MPV's 17th anniversary this August. We've already raised over 15% of our goal and would love it if you chipped in $17 or more today to help us get to 20% by the end of the week.
