OCA Welcomes Vice President Kamala Harris's Historic Nomination
OCA applauded Vice President Kamala Harris's historic nomination for the 2024 Presidential election as a milestone in U.S. political history, while not endorsing any candidate.
Washington, D.C. — Yesterday, Vice President Kamala Harris accepted the nomination for the 2024 Presidential election. OCA released the following statement:
OCA commends this groundbreaking selection of Vice President Kamala Harris as the nominee for the 2024 Presidential election, marking a significant milestone in U.S. political history. As the first Asian American and Black woman nominated for the nation's highest office, Vice President Harris embodies our nation's rich diversity and strength. Although OCA is not endorsing any candidate for the 2024 presidential election, we acknowledge that her nomination is a testament to the progress we have made toward inclusivity and representation in leadership.
“OCA acknowledges this significant moment,” stated OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates President Linda Ng. “Vice President Harris's nomination reflects a significant step toward greater diversity and representation in our nation's highest office.”
“We hope that Vice President Harris will uphold her commitment to serving all Americans,” stated OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates Executive Director Thu Nguyen. “This includes the AANHPI community, with the dignity and respect they deserve.”
