This chart shows the contributions coming into Ed Markey’s ActBlue so far this summer. As you can see, we started with some big momentum, but have fallen off in a big way in August. It’s not looking great.
Maybe it’s because folks are just busy in August. Families are going on vacation, students are getting ready to return to school, and so on.
But with the Democratic National Convention in full swing this week, we were hoping to see a surge in support for this grassroots movement — a surge that just hasn’t happened.
Listen, this campaign is fully committed to electing the Harris-Walz ticket, sending more progressives to Congress, and continuing to fight to pass the Green New Deal, restore abortion rights, and protect our democracy.
But we simply can’t do that work without the resources to make it happen. That’s why we’ve always relied on this grassroots team to help us raise the funds we need to go up against the GOP (and their big money donors) and win.
