SIGN NOW: Don’t let far-right extremists write their agenda into our Constitution >>
John, well-funded special interests are plotting to throw the U.S. Constitution into chaos – and I need your help to stop them.
Secretive, corporate lobby groups like the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) are wielding their influence with state lawmakers, demanding that they vote to call an Article V Constitutional Convention – an unprecedented event with no rules that could lead to a rewrite of the U.S. Constitution.
With your help, we already defeated calls for an Article V Convention in Wyoming, Maine, and Idaho this year – but if we don’t keep up the pressure, our extremist opponents could soon successfully secure enough votes to write their extreme far-right priorities into our Constitution.
Stop this attack on our Constitution. Add your name now to tell your lawmakers to REJECT all calls for an Article V Convention >>
Under Article V of the Constitution, Congress is required to convene a constitutional convention if two-thirds of state legislatures call for one. And right now, we’re just 6 states away.
John, no convention has ever been called under Article V for a reason: there’s just too much at stake.
Because there are no rules for a convention in the Constitution, the delegates could be unelected and unaccountable. There’s nothing to stop them from trying to shred our First Amendment protections, gut environmental regulations, and roll back civil rights advances.
The Kochs and their extremist allies are trying to get this done behind closed doors and out of the public eye. We need to show our lawmakers that we’re paying attention – and that we won’t let them gamble with our rights.
We can’t do it without you. Tell state lawmakers to oppose an Article V Convention and put a stop to this extremist plot once and for all.
John, if just a few more states agree to call an Article V Convention, unaccountable delegates could have the power to draft ANY amendments to our Constitution that they want. We can’t let that happen.
Thanks for speaking out for our rights,
