Friends,
“Testing is a key part of the whole equation and we’re getting it dialed in correctly.” –Governor Holcomb
Since the first day of the COVID-19 pandemic, Governor Holcomb and his team have prioritized coronavirus testing. Indiana is now near the top in the Midwest in testing per capita!
Today, the governor shared even more good news and announced a new partnership with OptumServe Health Services that will expand testing capacity by 30,000 tests per week throughout Indiana.
This is 30,000 more tests per week on top of what the Indiana State Department of Health is already doing.
The partnership with OptumServe will allow for all symptomatic Hoosiers—or anyone who has encountered a symptomatic person—to get tested.
“If you are showing symptoms, you can be tested. And it’s free.” –Governor Holcomb
Yes, testing is free.
You do not need insurance to get tested. Although, if you do have insurance, please bring your insurance information to the testing site.
OptumServe will set up 20 testing sites in the next 7 days and expand to 50 sites throughout Indiana over the next two weeks.
Once OptumServe is completely up and running, the expanded capacity will allow for over 100,000 COVID-19 tests a month.
“We can do all the testing, and make all the investments, but we can’t stop there. Your physical distancing and the actions you’re taking are making a huge difference. Now’s the time to stay vigilant.” –Governor Holcomb
Even with this great news on expanded testing, now’s not the time to let our foot off the gas. We’re one day closer to a wider opening of our state and the actions you’re taking are making us safer.
