1. NC VALUES: About the Supreme Court's recent Title IX decision

NC Values has received a number of calls and inquiries from around the state asking if the recent decision by the Supreme Court on Biden’s Title IX re-write affects North Carolina.

As many of you know, Title IX was enacted in 1972 to prohibit sex discrimination in educational institutions K-higher education. Its intent was to guarantee to female students equal educational and athletic opportunities afforded to boys and young men. The eight lawsuits, which include 26 states, one school district, two students and five private organizations, filed against the Biden Administration challenge this new definition. In every lawsuit, the lower courts have temporarily stopped enforcement of the Title IX regulations.

The new Title IX regulations redefine “sex” to include, among other things, “gender identity” within the definition of “sex.”

4. FOX NEWS: ‘Abortion-palooza’ at DNC could force pro-life Democrats to ditch party: ‘It's just absolutely disgusting’

"Democrats are throwing an 'abortion-palooza' in Chicago for the Democratic National Convention. 'They’re degrading human life and women for that matter. It's just absolutely disgusting. This continued celebration of abortion,' Democrats For Life of America executive director Kristen Day told Fox News Digital. Day is appalled that Planned Parenthood is offering free abortions inside a 'mobile health clinic' parked in Chicago during the convention. Pro-abortion activists also marched through the streets of Chicago ahead of the convention."

5. NC VALUES: We endorse Luke Farley for North Carolina Labor Commissioner

NC Values Coalition has endorsed Luke Farley for Labor Commissioner.

“As an experienced attorney whose career has been dedicated to protecting the rights of workers and small businesses, Luke Farley is the most qualified for the position of Labor Commissioner,” said NC Values Executive Director Tami Fitzgerald. “Luke is also a strong Christian, family man, and community servant. North Carolina needs more elected officials like Luke Farley whose decisions are based on a strong moral foundation and unwavering integrity.”

Weekly Prayer: NC Officials

LORD, you also have instructed us to pray for our governing officials, and we come to you in the spirit of this petition. We pray for our state government and its executive, legislative, and judicial servants. May they indeed be servants unto the people, and govern in a manner that protects liberty and virtue. In the same spirit, we pray for public servants across our local governments. May they all heed your mandate in Romans 13:4 to be in positions of authority as "God's servant" and for the "good" of the public. They govern in what we confess are difficult times. May they plead with you to give them wisdom, and may your grace to govern wisely be poured out on them.

Protect us from the oppression and loss of freedoms that other countries have experienced, and help us to value and preserve freedom, which we know comes only from You.

"I have indeed seen the oppression of my people in Egypt.  I have heard their groaning and have come down to set them free." Acts 7:34

Amen
