** Midwife tells inquiry about babies being left to die alone “gasping for air” after surviving late-term abortions

On Monday, an Australian midwife tearfully told a Queensland parliamentary inquiry that in the hospital where she works babies are born alive struggling to breathe after late-term abortions but are given no medical assistance and are left to die alone unaided.
Louise Adsett’s testimony was like a mirror image of the research from University College Cork in 2020 that revealed under Ireland’s new abortion law babies have been born alive after late-term abortions and been left to die alone unaided in hospital corners.
Ms Adsett, who has worked as a clinical midwife in Brisbane for the past 14 years, was giving evidence to a state parliamentary inquiry into the Termination of Pregnancy (Live Births) Amendment Bill 2024.

** Ellen Coyne now acknowledges the good faith of pro-life marches?

In an article published on 8 August in the Irish Independent, Ellen Coyne wrote a piece which argued that ‘anti-immigration’ protests are ‘not based on solidarity’. In the piece, she contrasted this new ‘movement’ with other causes which have resulted in protests in Ireland. She mentioned the Gaza issue, but also interestingly discussed abortion as ‘one of the most long-standing protests and debates in Irish social history’.

** Woman wins settlement after arrest for silently praying outside abortion clinic
------------------------------------------------------------
A pro-life woman arrested for praying silently outside an abortion clinic in Birmingham has won a settlement from police. Isabel Vaughan-Spruce was arrested by British police in 2022 after censorship zone legislation came into effect, targeting pro-life people from protesting, counselling or praying in close proximity to abortion clinics.
