Kamala Harris has always been for the people and I’ve always been proud to stand with her. Watching her accept the nomination for President of the United States tonight, I am inspired by her journey and all she has achieved to reach this moment. And I’m inspired about the history she, and we, can all make together on November 5th—and beyond.

This is a moment of choosing for our nation, and for our city as well.
On November 5th, we can choose an America for everyone, or a country just for those at the top. That same night, we can choose to continue down the path of a tale of two cities in San Francisco–one for the billionaires and billionaire heirs and one for the rest of us–or we can move in a different direction, towards a city where all working people have a fair shot.
Well I know which America I want for my kids and I know which city I want, too.
I will be a mayor who will usher in that second, better San Francisco. A mayor who won’t rest until this city works better for the people, for all the people—that’s the vision that has driven Kamala’s career, and mine as well.
It’s driven my work from my days as a young math teacher for underserved kids, to my service as a Clinton White House intern, to my time working with Mayor Brown to help immigrant families and with Mayor Newsom to help formerly incarcerated people get good jobs. It drove my mission to raise the minimum wage as a labor organizer and build more affordable housing as a San Francisco Supervisor. And it will drive my work every day as your mayor.
I hope you’re just as excited about Kamala Harris as I am. And I hope you’re just as committed to doing in San Francisco what Vice President Harris can do across America.
