Dear John,
This week, I was in Chicago for the Democratic National Convention to formally nominate Vice President Kamala Harris as our candidate for this November. As the first Indian-American to serve in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, as someone born in the same part of India as Kamala's mother and who still has family there, and as the father of two daughters of South Asian descent who will cast their ballot for President for the first time this November, I can't tell you how special this moment was for me.
During my time in Chicago, I saw something else: we have the right team for this moment. Vice President Harris and Governor Walz are uniquely suited to lead us to victory this November, fueled by the politics of joy and a common drive to fight for all of us. But they can't do it alone.
It's no secret that Pennsylvania is a must-win state in this election. Victory is going to take all of us spreading this campaign's message of hope and compassion — not hate and division.
This week's Convention made it clear: this is the moment, and it's our duty to rise to meet it. Our children's futures and the future of our political discourse depend on it. Can I count on you to show your support for this movement by making a contribution to my campaign?
Only together can we win this election and build a better Pennsylvania, nation, and future for all of us.
Sincerely,
Rep. Arvind Venkat, MD
