Laura, it’s Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. I just stepped off the stage at the Democratic National Convention. The energy here is just through the roof. Why? Because Democrats across the country are just as fired up as I am to elect Kamala Harris to be our next President and Tim Walz, my good friend, to be our next Vice President.

I want to take a minute to tell you what we’re fighting for and what we’re up against. In this election we have two very different candidates. One is a prosecutor and the other is a convicted felon. One, a Vice President who believes in reproductive freedom, the other someone who stacked the court with the people who ripped away Roe v. Wade. Kamala Harris wants to move us forward and the other guy wants to take us back. The choice is clear, Laura, and we are not going back.

But our work isn’t finished. This November, the White House, control of Congress and key governorships across the country are up for grabs. Trump, JD Vance and MAGA extremists across the country are trying to take us back, but we are ready to fight back. It’s about damn time there is a strong woman in the White House and I know with Tim Walz by her side they will lead with the same winning three-part strategy I do: Get. Shit. Done.

Why wouldn't we choose the leader who's tough, tested, and a total badass? I know who I want as our Commander in Chief.

So let’s choose Kamala Harris, America. In just a few hours, Kamala Harris will be the official Democratic nominee for President, and that means it is now or never to get fired up to help send her to the White House and elect her partners in the states – but I can’t do it without you.

I know how strong this grassroots team is, it’s why I am reaching out to you personally. Supporters like you were indispensable during my race for governor. Every time I needed you most, you never failed to show up. Well, it’s time to show up again.
