**Dallas Opioid Crisis Worsens Amid Officer Shortage**
As drug overdoses are on the rise all over the country??Dallas is feeling the effects of the national crisis. Several factors contribute to opioids running rampant through our streets, but the most significant factor is the lack of enforcement at our southern border.
**As thousands of immigrants illegally enter our country every day, the Dallas City Council should hold the safety of its constituents as their top priority!**
Unfortunately, city leadership in Dallas has only served to cripple our law enforcement and its ability to combat the skyrocketing amount of overdose deaths and illicit fentanyl distribution, by refusing to supply the Dallas Police Department (DPD) with the resources and manpower it needs.
DPD has also been prevented from enforcing Texas's urban camping ban as they deal with staffing shortages.
Until the City Council takes full responsibility over public safety, they own every opioid death that happens in the city of Dallas. The homeless population is the most visible customer demographic of predatory drug dealers.
**Until DPD is fully staffed, there will be no crackdown on the drug problem and our city's homeless population will continue to be plagued by their drug addictions and criminal activity, instead of finding real help.**
**We need you to join the chorus of voices calling for safer streets in Dallas!** Click the button below to find out who your City Council member is so you can ask them to fully fund DPD so we can prevent more opioid overdoses from taking place in our city!

**Corrupt City Council Begs Dallas For Pay Raise** [link removed]
The Dallas City Council is asking voters in November for a raise. How brazen of the Council to force our City into destruction and then ask for a
**50% pay raise of $30,000** as they make things worse. If they can't control crime, they can't control homelessness, and they shouldn't be given more of - and more control of - your money.

**August Heat Threatens Homeless Lives** [link removed]
**** [link removed]
The August heat in Dallas is dangerous. People should limit outdoor activity when possible. Last week, a UPS driver passed out and crashed due to heat exhaustion. Imagine the impact of the heat for those who cannot escape it.
**The City of Dallas is allowing vagrants to live in these harsh conditions - the status quo is far from compassionate and could end very badly.**

Bazaldua Proposes Ballot Measure to Dodge Accountability [link removed]
Corrupt officials oppose all forms of accountability and do what they can to escape it altogether. Councilman Adam Bazaldua is continuing this trend by introducing a ballot measure that shields Council members from litigation if they are breaking the rules.

**Tracking Illegal Camps:**
[link removed]
This week, Executive Director Joseph Porter went live from the Dallas Public Library to cover how Interim City Manager Kim Tolbert allegedly led the charge to clear the homeless encampment there. Instead, he found that the vagrants hadn't been removed from the streets. They just moved a block away. The danger is still present downtown!

**Urban Rubbish**
**Camp"**
This camp in Jesse Moreno's District 2 has been dubbed "Urban Rubbish Camp." The danger is real for the people living under this overpass. Vagrants are living and sleeping right next to cars that may be going upwards of 30 miles per hour. This unchecked vagrancy is a clear and present danger for all pedestrians in Dallas!
**District 6 Councilman Omar Narvaez**
"Pandhandler's Rest Camp"
This camp in Omar Narvaez's District 6 has earned the title "Pandhandler's Rest Camp." After a long and hard day of panhandling at this intersection, these vagrants retreat to the shade under this overpass to cool off. They have quite the setup as they treat the sidewalk like their own personal living room with their recliners and couches. Why is the City Council allowing this to continue?

**"Library Meeting**
**??Camp"**
We named this camp in Jesse Moreno's District 2 "Library Meeting Camp." There is a lot of activity in front of the Dallas Public Library downtown, and none of it is good. The persisting vagrant camp in front of the library has since been cleared out; unfortunately, the vagrants are still on the streets just a block over! What a waste!

**Mission Statement:**
Keep Dallas Safe exists to address crime and homelessness in Dallas with the goal of transforming Dallas into the safest large city in Texas for residents and businesses. We aim to have a City Council that prioritizes crime rate which directly determines the quality of life in Dallas. We do this by fighting against the "defund the police" movement, holding accountable our city leaders' efforts towards lowering district crime rates, and highlighting our city's homelessness problems by pushing for enforcement of the prohibition of urban camping.
