Congratulations to N.M. Tripp Insurance Agency for being named the Economic Development Commission Business of the Month for August.
Since 1935, the Tripp family and their business have been deeply rooted in the Oswego community. Starting with Norval Manning Tripp, who began his career as a door-to-door insurance collector, the agency has grown through three generations, each committed to serving our town.
Bob and Janet Tripp, pictured with Village Board President Ryan Kauffman, accepted the award at this week's Board Meeting. Under the current leadership of Tom Tripp, the agency continues to be a cornerstone of Oswego. From Bob Tripp's 35 years as a volunteer fireman to Janet Tripp’s long-standing involvement with the Oswegoland Woman’s Civic Club, the Tripp family has always been dedicated to giving back. Tom Tripp continues this legacy, supporting local events like the Leon McNair Memorial Golf Classic, which funds student golf scholarships.
Kudos to the Tripp family and business for their unwavering commitment to our community.
N.M. Tripp Insurance Agency is located at 5 Main Street in Oswego. Learn about other Business of the Month award winners.

The Village of Oswego is partnering with Montgomery, Yorkville, and the DuPage Water Commission to bring Lake Michigan water to our community by 2028. This collaboration is essential to ensuring a reliable water source for future generations.
To protect our water system, we’re conducting a corrosion control study to understand how Lake Michigan water will interact with our pipes, ensuring a smooth transition.
The contractor, Cornwell Engineering Group, has developed a pipe rig with water from the three communities being run through the respective pipes. It will take approximately six months to acclimate the pipes to well water from each town and then Lake Michigan water will be introduced.
When the testing has concluded, Cornwell will analyze the results and recommend the best treatment options, as needed, to the municipalities. Learn about the study and new water source.
