John: Tonight, I will be taking the stage at the Democratic National Convention.

I want to explain why this is a rare opportunity for our campaign and how it connects to Democrats’ efforts nationwide – but if you’re short on time, I hope you’ll chip in $5 to support my must-win race in Michigan and keep the Senate blue.

Tonight I’ll have the chance to introduce myself – and our race – to Democrats across the country who know how critical of a swing state Michigan is. And on the final evening of the convention, that opportunity is magnified.

It is a night where Democrats up and down the ticket – culminating with Vice President Harris – will prosecute the case against Donald Trump and talk to America about what a second Trump presidency and a GOP-controlled Senate would mean for our future.

Historically, the convention is also a moment that generates a surge in enthusiasm for Democratic candidates. This means new volunteers, a surge in the polls, and yes, grassroots donations at a scale that helps power a campaign.

The Republicans, and our opponent, certainly experienced that surge during their convention. And they will be watching to see if Democrats can match, or even exceed their efforts.

I know it may seem hard to believe that just $5 will make a difference in an election where so much money will be spent, but by the time you make your contribution, dozens of others will have made their own, and they’re hoping you’ll do the same.

So I am asking: Before I take the stage tonight at the Democratic National Convention, will you split a contribution of $5 between my campaign and Jacky Rosen’s to help power our campaigns to keep the Senate blue?

Thank you,
