Last night, I spoke at the Democratic Convention. If you watched, I hope what I said hit a nerve.

I explained how Democrats have a vision for immigration policy that allows us to live up to our values and history as a nation of immigrants, but also prioritize having a secure border.

Republicans showed their cards this year. After I spent months working with Senate Republicans to craft a comprehensive bipartisan bill to secure the border, Trump told them not to pass it because he doesn’t actually want to fix the border. Trump thinks it’s good politics for them to keep a chaotic border as a perpetual political cudgel.

Trump wants to divide us. But Kamala Harris and Democrats are showing this week that we can unite as a nation with a vision for tomorrow.
