As my team and I welcomed our fellow Democrats to Chicago for the National Democratic Convention, I wanted to share how we kicked off this important event.

Earlier this week, I joined the Progressive Democrats of America at their immigration panel to discuss the urgent reforms needed in our immigration system.



As the first and only immigrant Member of Congress from the Midwest, I'm deeply committed to ensuring that humane immigration policies remain at the forefront of our Democratic agenda, especially as we gather in the nation’s first sanctuary city.

One thing from the event was clear: achieving meaningful reform will require a united effort from all of us.
