What can 321 votes do? In Minnesota in 2022, those votes powered one of our Democracy Defenders to victory, flipped control of the State Senate to a one-seat Democratic majority, and created a blue trifecta with the State House and governorship.

It was a delightful November surprise. That Democratic team got to work, protecting abortion rights, passing new gun safety measures, and expanding access to the ballot — policies that will change lives in Minnesota.

Minnesota isn’t alone — so many state legislative elections are decided by a few hundred votes.
