A federal judge ruled that public prayer is unconstitutional – for a second time – after atheists sued over a community prayer vigil organized in response to a crime spree.

When our client in California asked to reserve a city facility to hold worship services and watch sermons on television, city officials denied his request, relying on an unconstitutional policy forbidding the use of city facilities for "religious purposes."

We sent a demand letter explaining that the policy violates the First Amendment, and we're happy to report that the city has removed the language banning all "religious worship or other religious purposes."
