Public Health Nurses Lead During COVID-19 Crisis
In Tennessee and Maryland, two nurses recently have earned plaudits&mdash;and news coverage&mdash;as they help their states respond to the public health crisis brought on by the novel coronavirus. One, Shelby County Health Department Director Alisa Haushalter, DNP, RN, PHNA-BC, has also helped lead the Tennessee Action Coalition.

University of Hawaii Offers COVID-19 Training for Nurses
Faculty members at the University of Hawaii Manoa School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene sprang into action and developed a training program for students headed to the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. In response to demand, it&rsquo;s been adapted for working nurses too. The school&rsquo;s dean led the work: Mary Boland, DrPH, RN, FAAN, also co-leads the Hawaii Action Coalition.

Neb. Develops COVID-19 Resource Page for Long Term Care
The Nebraska Center for Nursing is helping the state face a shortage of health care workers in long-term care and assisted living by seeking those who can volunteer or take temporary employment. The online resource center is a result of collaboration among the state&rsquo;s Department of Health and Human Services, Health Care Association, Campaign Action Coalition, and others.
