It's back to school season, John, and at VoteRiders that means we're getting this question a lot:

Can I use a student ID to vote?

The answer is — it depends! 🙃 Voter ID laws vary from state to state, and there’s no one-size-fits-all rule about whether your student ID will be accepted where you live.

That’s why students who will be voting age by November 5 need to do an ID check now to determine if their student ID is accepted for voting where they live.

To simplify the process, VoteRiders has compiled accurate, up-to-date information on whether/what student IDs are accepted as voter IDs in each of the 38 states with voter ID laws today. You can look it up on our website, or text #STUDENT to 866-ID-2-VOTE (866-432-8683) to get the process started.

We encourage all students and young voters to look up this critical information now, at the start of the school year. This will allow you time to get an accepted form of ID if your student ID is not sufficient.
