** AZ Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Reviewing Evidence of 40,000 Duplicate Signatures on Ranked Choice Voting Petition

PHOENIX, Ariz. — The Arizona Supreme Court has unanimously remanded the Ranked Choice Voting petition case back to the lower court to review evidence of 40,000 duplicate signatures. This decision could significantly impact whether the petition qualifies for the ballot.

Gina Swoboda, Executive Director of the Voter Reference Foundation, played a key role in this case by filing an amicus brief with the court. The court’s ruling is a victory for election integrity in Arizona.

“We are so grateful to the Arizona Supreme Court for allowing the evidence of 40,000 duplicate signatures to be reviewed by the lower court,” said Gina Swoboda. “This petition does not have enough signatures to qualify to appear on our ballot. Ranked Choice Voting is an absolute disaster and will confuse and disenfranchise Arizona voters. We are hopeful the lower court will find the measure has not met the required threshold in its review.”

The case concerns the “Make Elections Fair Arizona Act,” which aims to amend the Arizona Constitution to introduce Ranked Choice Voting. The lower court will now have to closely examine the evidence presented regarding the duplicate signatures.
