Hi Friend,

Everybody deserves a place to call home. Unfortunately, your rental screening might be getting in the way without you even knowing it. We can help you understand and fix these errors with three simple steps:

1. Contact the CFPB

The CFPB maintains an updated list of consumer reporting companies, including specialty consumer reporting agencies like tenant screening companies.

2. Request a Copy

Did your potential landlord deny you? You can ask why. Landlords are required to tell you why you were denied, and why they are charging you more than first outlined because of your report. If you are comfortable, be sure to ask them for the name, address, and phone number of the company that created the report.

3. Do your Due Diligence

Just because you were previously facing eviction doesn’t mean it should be on your record. If your eviction was expunged, or dismissed, or you are past the seven-year time bracket, you may be able to reach out to free legal help for advice.

You deserve a fair chance at getting the home of your dreams, don’t let errors get in the way of that.

Start by requesting a copy of your report today, a small step can make a huge difference not only for yourself but your friends and family too. Share this with a loved one today!

In solidarity,
