This week, I caught up with one of the victims of the fire, a disabled senior citizen who hasn’t been able to return home for over a year.
I asked if the Supervisor had helped her at all through her ordeal. She told me she called his office a couple of times for help after the fire, but no one ever returned her calls.
When our community tried to raise funds to support those displaced by the fire, Dean couldn't be bothered to return our phone calls.
When our community tried to raise awareness for the encampments growing in the abandoned building, Dean never responded to our concerns.
We deserve a Supervisor who will act when the community is in crisis.
We deserve a representative who will work across City Hall, with the Mayor's office, building consensus across departments to get results for us — not make excuses for their inability to act when our neighbors are suffering.
