Help chart a course to freedom!

John,

When you become a North Star Guide, you help victims and survivors chart their course to freedom.

That’s not just a metaphor. Your monthly gift means the National Human Trafficking Hotline can help victims and survivors navigate a complex support network offered by federal and local agencies.

These resources assist survivors on their journeys: pursuing justice through investigations and prosecutions, resolving immigration status, or receiving public benefits for victims of trafficking. But figuring out how to start the process can be overwhelming.

Enter our Case Response Specialists (CRS), who assess the situation and call in the right partners, such as trained law enforcement or trafficking-specific program staff. They make sure survivors have a clear path to their next step.

YES, I’LL HELP GUIDE SURVIVORS

Giving monthly allows you to plan your generosity — and it allows our CRS team to plan next steps with survivors. Here are a few ways they connect the dots:

Finding the Right Follow-Up: A community member reported that workers at a nearby rest stop were living in a dilapidated trailer, struggling to get food and water, and not getting paid. Given concerns that workers had about their rights, the CRS team reached out to trusted agency contacts with training and experience in working on trafficking cases to get them help.

Sharing Information Across Jurisdictions: A law enforcement officer contacted the CRS team for information about a trafficker targeting boys and other youth in multiple West Coast states. They were able to locate a related Hotline report and connected the officer to another agent investigating the same trafficker in a different state.

Getting Children Connected to Care: Among child victims of trafficking in the U.S., CRS connects dozens from other countries to the Trafficking Victims Assistance Program for benefits. We coordinate with the government, submit letters requesting assistance for children, and connect them and their case managers to further eligibility and access support.

These aren’t the steps that make news headlines. But they are critical steps to ensuring that victims and survivors of all ages can move forward on their path to freedom.

Will you guide the way?
