End horse slaughter for good! Pass the SAFE Act! ([link removed])
[link removed]

Friend,

More than 80% of Americans support a permanent ban on horse slaughter in the United States. That’s a vast majority of caring people who don’t want beloved, loyal horses to be carved up for meat. But Congress still hasn’t passed the Save America’s Forgotten Equines (SAFE) Act that would keep horse slaughter plants closed on U.S. soil and stop the inhumane export of horses for slaughter abroad.

If you’re part of the majority that wants to see our horses live full and healthy lives, will you donate $20 or more to the Humane Society Legislative Fund today? ([link removed]) Your contribution will fuel our work to help pass the SAFE Act; protect racing and companion horses, donkeys, mules and children’s ponies from brutal slaughter; and continue our efforts to protect all animals from harm.

Right now, the predatory horse meat industry is targeting horses and their owners with deceptive tactics. Industry buyers even impersonate horse rescue personnel to trick loving owners into giving up their horses for slaughter! Imagine unintentionally sending a loyal companion to be bludgeoned, butchered and served up on a dinner plate. It’s horrifying, and we must do everything we can to ensure this cruelty is stopped.

That’s why we can’t let the SAFE Act get stalled in Congress. We need this lifesaving legislation to keep vulnerable horses out of this predatory industry’s clutches. But Congress won’t make the SAFE Act a priority unless we continue our urgent advocacy for horses and all the animals who need us, and if they don’t get the job done now, we’ll have to rely on the new Congress to reintroduce this important legislation. Please: Make a donation to HSLF today so we can pass the SAFE Act, end brutal horse slaughter and protect all animals from harm. ([link removed])

Thank you for your urgent support today,
