Schumer Resurrects Filibuster Fight to Torch Senate Rules
by Suzanne Bowdey
Just when Americans thought Democrats had run out of unpopular ideas to campaign on, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) dusted off an idea that, two years ago, he couldn't even get his own party to support. In a press gaggle in Chicago, the New Yorker dropped more than a few bombshells - but none bigger than his renewed call to end the filibuster, an extreme idea that would radically remake the Senate as we know it. "We want to protect choice," Schumer insisted of abortion - and apparently, a naked power grab is the only way to do it.

Border Crisis Will Intensify Under Harris If Elected, Say Experts
by Dan Hart
With the ongoing border crisis at the top of voter's minds as the November election looms in 11 weeks, Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris's party formally endorsed a highly controversial measure that would provide blanket citizenship to millions of unvetted and undocumented individuals and hamper efforts to deport criminals. Experts say that Harris's border policies would almost certainly mirror President Joe Biden's if elected and will further exacerbate the crisis.

Why Christians Should Not Conceal the Cross
by Joshua Arnold
Cardinal Blase Cupich of Chicago opened the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Monday with a prayer of invocation. He praised the "God of all creation ... the source of every blessing that graces our lives and our nation." But he drew criticism for the apparent compromises he made to the prevailing spirit of the Democratic Party, such as taking a large cross worn on his chest and stuffing it into his suit pocket.

The third straight day of protests at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) brought an escalation in disruption, persistence, and arrests, as well as a shift of focus to the Israeli consulate on Tuesday. Around three hours of physical confrontations resulted in 55-60 arrests, according to Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling. The anti-Israel demonstrators "showed up with the intent of committing acts of violence, vandalism. That was their intent," he said.

'Disgusting': Kentucky Governor Suggests Vance's Family Should Experience Rape
by S.A. McCarthy
A Democratic governor suggested on Tuesday that Senator J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) should be made to "go through" having a member of his family raped. Hadley Duvall, a rape victim-turned-abortion activist, introduced the governor of her home state of Kentucky, Andy Beshear, at the Democratic National Convention on Monday afternoon, hailing the pro-abortion governor as a "champion for women." Taking the stage, Beshear boasted of abortion-on-demand as a necessary option for women impregnated by rape. "Yet Donald Trump brags about tearing a constitutional right away from Hadley and every other woman and girl in our country," the governor said.

4 Planned Parenthood Locations to Close in New York, But 'We're Still in a Battle' for Life
by Sarah Holliday
Financial and political "challenges" have caused Planned Parenthood to make the "difficult decisions" to "temporarily pause deep sedation services" in the city of Manhattan and close four locations in the state of New York. I'm sure it was "difficult" for an organization dedicated to ending life to make a decision that meant they have less babies to terminate and women to harm. But as Christina Bennett, Live Action News correspondent, explained in comment to The Washington Stand, the only "difficult" decision should be "operating a business that takes human life."
