My convention speech is tonight, John. I’m working on the finishing touches right now, and I hope I make you proud.

But there’s another thing happening today, back in Arizona: Trump’s flying in for another visit. He’s doing events both today and tomorrow, because he knows he has to win in Arizona to have any chance at retaking the White House.

Back in 2020, Arizona was one of the states that decided the Senate and the White House. Trump barely lost — just a few thousand votes decided the race. It was one of the most expensive states in the country, but we kicked Trump out of the Oval Office and sent Mark Kelly to the U.S. Senate.

In 2022, we defeated Blake Masters and won Mark a full term in the U.S. Senate. We defeated Kari Lake, too, but it was down to the wire. Every race was decided by the slimmest margin. And again, Arizona was one of the most expensive states in the entire country.

Now, in 2024, Trump’s gaze is fixed firmly on Arizona. He’s here so much I can’t even keep count anymore. Kari Lake is surging, we’re neck and neck. And I checked the numbers last night. Right now, there’s already about $12 million in advertising on the books against me in Arizona, and that number is only going to grow.

I’m hoping that tonight folks sit up and take notice — we need to win in Arizona again. But we can’t, we won’t, if we don’t raise what we need to compete. We’re budgeting out every dollar right now, and we’re falling short of our goals.
