Back-to-school season is ramping up, and while it can be an exciting time for many, it’s a bit different for us.

On February 14, 2018, our lives were shattered when an act of senseless violence stole the life of our daughter, Carmen, at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. And 6 years later, life without Carmen hasn’t gotten any easier.

She would’ve turned 23 this year. Around this time, she might be a college graduate working her way through her dream of going to medical school – but her big dreams and aspirations were ripped away from her in an instant.

Our daughter’s murder was preventable. And in the years since the tragedy that rocked our family, we’ve dedicated our lives to making sure that no other parent loses a child to firearm violence at school. Friend, we’re doing everything we can to advocate for real, tangible change. Will you help us ensure we have the resources we need to do more of this lifesaving work?
