John, I just finished my remarks on the Democratic National Convention stage — take a look:

It was an honor to address the party and the country to support Kamala Harris as our next President. Before I tell you more, please help us secure Kamala’s win this November by making a split contribution between her campaign and mine.

I joined the Army when I was seventeen — and led soldiers in combat in Afghanistan.

My training taught me you never learn anything about anybody when times are easy — you learn about them when times are hard.

Kamala Harris is the right one to lead us in this moment.

The future of our country is in the hands of all of us, right now. The choices that we make today will determine what the future looks like for our children, so we have the responsibility to select the best leadership to move us forward.

The best choice is Kamala Harris. Kamala has the experience, the fight, and the vision. She is a leader who brings people in rather than pushing them out. She is a leader who knows just what service means, and the importance of serving the country.

We are a nation of patriots who serve when the mission is hard and the destination is uncertain. And I know our history isn’t perfect. The unevenness of the American journey has made some skeptical. I’m not asking you to give up your skepticism. I just want that skepticism to be your companion, and not your captor — and I'm asking that you join us in the work!

In Maryland, we’re doing something special right now — we're choosing to work together. We are focused on bringing people in rather than pushing them out, because together, we win.

Tonight, my message was clear: the only way to make our country better is to work together. So let’s roll up our sleeves to elect Kamala Harris, and ensure we have a strong partner in Washington, D.C. for the next four years.
