Dear John --
In the 269 days since National formed a government, we’ve moved at
a rapid pace to start getting New Zealand back on track.
We’re strengthening the economy to reduce the cost of living,
restoring law and order and delivering better schools and
healthcare.
Our economic plan is working. We’ve stopped wasteful spending and
delivered tax relief to hard working Kiwis. Mortgage interest rates
are now falling.
We’re working to lift student achievement through mandating an hour
a day each of reading, writing and maths; structured literacy, a maths
action plan, and banning cell phones from classrooms.
We’re tackling health with funding to shorten emergency room and
elective surgery waiting times and make sure Kiwis can access up to 26
new cancer drugs and other new treatments.
We’re helping you to feel safer with 500 extra frontline police,
including new community beat teams; more powers for police to tackle
gangs; military-style academies for repeat youth offenders and tougher
sentencing laws.

There is still a lot to do but National has the plans, the team,
and the determination to keep up the momentum, tackle the tough issues
and ensure New Zealand is the place Kiwis want to make their home.
