The 2024 Democratic National Convention is underway, and it’s absolutely electric.
I’m reaching out from Chicago to let you know California is in the house at the DNC! It’s an honor to be here as part of the Golden State’s delegation alongside incredible leaders like Governor Gavin Newsom and labor icon Dolores Huerta.
Democrats from across the country are gathered here to unite behind the Harris-Walz ticket ahead of this November’s monumental presidential election, and I couldn’t be more proud or excited to participate.
I was honored to join fellow attorneys general from New York, Illinois, and Michigan to speak on a Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) panel about the critical role state AGs play in defending our democracy and basic rights.
I also spoke at an event hosted by APIAVote to highlight the importance of Asian American and Pacific Islander voters in making Vice President Harris our first Black and Asian American president in U.S. history.
AAPIs are the fastest-growing voter bloc, making up more than 6% of the population but less than 1% of elected leaders. It’s time to change that – and wouldn’t it be great to start at the top with the White House!
We’ve heard some rousing speeches from Democrats up and down the ballot and from communities all over the country these last two days. I can’t wait to see what the final two nights of the convention have in store!
I’ll be in touch with more updates once the convention wraps up later this week!
