Johh,

School is back in session! Kids are rising early, heading to class, and diving into a new season of learning. But as we wrap up this first week, I can’t help but think about the serious issues plaguing our education system.

Teachers are stretched thin, tasked with arguably one of our country’s most important jobs: shaping the minds of our future generation. Yet, they are doing this crucial work while being severely underpaid and underserved.

To make matters worse, the GOP is pushing for vouchers that would remove vital funding from our public schools. They are also advocating for book bans, censoring our children from new ideas and perspectives. These policies often undermine teachers by not only cutting the resources they need to do their jobs, but fully attacking their expertise. This all adds up to fewer resources for kids and teachers and a drop in the quality of support our schools can provide.

This should alarm you. If we don’t act now, our children’s futures are at risk.

This is why we need leaders like Kamala Harris’s running mate, Tim Walz, a former educator, who is equipped to tackle these problems head-on. As Governor of Minnesota, he made sure every student had access to breakfast and lunch when he signed legislation providing free breakfast and lunch in all K-12 public schools. With champions like Tim on our side, we can create a stronger, more supportive education system for every child.

If we want to make concrete progress, we need to win back the House and kick out Republicans who are more interested in turning our schools into cultural battlegrounds than a system that invests in our children’s future.

Teachers shouldn’t have to struggle to make ends meet, schools shouldn’t have to scrape by with limited resources, and the GOP shouldn’t be cutting the funding our schools desperately need. If you agree, chip $5, $10, or anything you can into my campaign so we can fight for a better future for our children. [link removed]
