John,

Yesterday the Trump administration took an ax to the Endangered Species Act.

And today it's easier for special interests to harm wildlife across this country in their pursuit of profits.

You can be sure: We'll wage the legal battle of the century to stop this illegal attack on wildlife.

Now is the time to make an urgent donation to our Endangered Species Act Protection Fund.

The new regulations are a sick, cruel gift to industry — and will cause species to slip into extinction. They're also a violation of what the Act was passed to do: save wildlife and habitat.

Here's what you need to know:

The new rules change how, when and where species should be protected — in favor of narrow corporate interests. At least 47 species have gone extinct waiting for protection, and unless we act now, that number will go higher.

It's going to be much harder to protect the habitat of imperiled species — a gift to Big Oil that will let them drill and mine in places like the Arctic, which would doom polar bears.

This attack doesn't just weaken protection for endangered animals and plants. It also ensures imperiled species awaiting protection either never get safeguards or face new, life-threatening delays.

The Act is a crucial lifeline right now for more than 1,700 animals and plants, from ice seals to dusky gopher frogs to Humboldt martens. It's the bedrock of the work we do every day to save animals and plants from disappearing forever.

That's why we're pouring every ounce of our legal firepower, organizing strength and media clout into this fight. We won't let Trump and the far right get away with gutting the Endangered Species Act and sending thousands of threatened species into a death spiral.

We'll continue rising up against this administration's scorched-earth agenda at every turn, adding to the more 150 lawsuits — about one per week — that we've filed against Trump and his lackeys to protect the wild.

It's not too late to stop the extinction crisis, but we need a strong Endangered Species Act to do it.

This is the moment we were founded for. Please donate to the Endangered Species Act Protection Fund today.
