Like any well-run campaign, we start with an idea of how many votes we need in order to win this race. That's called a "win number."
From there, we create a plan and a budget we need to persuade and turnout that number of people who we believe will vote for us, plus a bit of a buffer, of course.
That means every dollar we raise is allocated before it is even spent. When we raise it, we know where it's going and we move it there — taking us closer to what we believe we need to win.
It also means any goals we don't reach mean cuts, putting our ability to reach the "win number" in jeopardy.
When we built our budget, we said we needed a big week this week — capitalizing off enthusiasm of the convention. But right now, we're still not where we need to be. We need to reach our numbers; we don't want to make cuts. So please:
Ruben Gallego is sincerely hoping you can contribute $5 directly to his campaign for U.S. Senate. Every dollar we raise will go toward persuading and turning out the voters we need to win this race.
