TEAM NEWS
Our Annual Retreat and Upcoming Wellness Break
PEAK’s commitment to creating a work culture centered on trust and care has transformed the ways we innovate and collaborate together. To support this journey, the PEAK staff and board convened in San Juan, Puerto Rico, for four full days dedicated to connecting, learning, and planning.
To further encourage collective rest, PEAK’s offices will be closed from Monday, September 2, through Friday, September 6. We hope you enjoy the long holiday weekend, and we look forward to reconnecting and supporting you in your work when we return. When we return, PEAK will resume a five-day work week with half-day Fridays.

Announcing Our Second Mentorship Pilot Program
We believe that our members—regardless of their title or tenure—can learn from one another and support each other as change agents within philanthropy. That’s why we are excited to announce the second pilot of our mentorship program, in honor of Orneata Prawl.
This year, we are working in collaboration with PEAK New England to bring together 31 mentors and mentees together for mutual support, learning, and collaboration. We’d like to give special thanks to the selection committee for reviewing, selecting, and pairing our applicants. Check out the list of mentors and mentees here.
We are looking for sponsors now to support this work. Interested? Contact Member Outreach Coordinator Nichia McFarlane to learn more.

Cocreate PEAK2025 With Us
Change begins with us, and each member of the PEAK community is an inherent leader. And we live in a moment that requires us to courageously lean into the headwinds that challenge us. To this, we say: Onward! As individuals and as a collective, let’s lead with courage to transform philanthropy and boldly move toward a future where justice and equity prevail.
Be a part of this movement by cocreating the PEAK2025 program with us. Submit a session proposal that will inform and inspire grants professionals to become activated change agents in philanthropy and lean into the headwinds that challenge us. Download our call for proposals guide to learn more about session tracks, session types, and innovative ways we'll be learning together. Also, be sure to attend our info session on August 28 and our Ask Me Anything event on September 10 to learn more about PEAK2025 and ask whatever questions you have about the proposal and selection process.
The deadline to submit proposals is September 17.

PEAK in Community
Here’s the latest on how PEAK is engaging with member organizations, partners, nonprofits, and allies in advocating for transformative change and leading the way in advancing equitable and effective grantmaking practices.
The recently released sixth edition of A Consumers Guide to Grant Management Systems for Private and Public Foundations represents a major collaborative effort between PEAK, Grantbook, Technology Association of Grantmakers, and Tech Impact. To celebrate the launch of this resource, PEAK Chief Operating Officer Dolores Estrada joined Hart Strategic Marketing’s Amadie Hart, Grantbook’s Tierney Smith, TAG’s Jean Westrick, and Tech Impact’s Linda Widdop on a webinar to share how to use the guide, explore trends in grants management systems, and field questions from the audience.
While at the annual United Philanthropy Forum conference, PEAK President and CEO Satonya Fair gathered with fellow CEOs of philanthropy-supporting organizations for a day of learning and sharing. In addition, the group held an in-depth discussion on the social sector’s pushbacks on racial equity and concerns regarding disinvestment in philanthropy-supporting organizations over the past year.
