Future Coalition is the leading organization behind progressive youth activism. Our intergenerational team is providing young people with the tools, resources, and support to power their ideas and amplify their impact around the nation.

Dear Friend,

The second night of the DNC was filled with energy and hope.

In the ceremonial role call, young people continued to shine. At just 18 years old, West Virginia’s roll call was led by their youngest delegate, Kathryn Prather. North Carolina also allowed young people to make history, as their roll call was led by the state party chair, Anderson Clayton, the youngest state party chair in the country.

Kamala Harris and Tim Walz were officially nominated as the Democratic ticket – an electrifying moment. Even Michelle Obama pointed out the difference in energy this election cycle.

Michelle Obama: America, hope is making a comeback.

She continued by tearing into Trump about his mission to tear down anyone in his path by exploiting fear and lies. Pointing out that Kamala Harris is the person who will climb the mountain in front of her, whereas Donald Trump will take the escalator to overcome the summit.

Following Michelle Obama was her husband, Former President Barack Obama. He continued the criticism of the Republican nominee by explaining Donald Trump isn’t for the people, but rather for his needs, desires, and those who will help him get his way.

Barack Obama: America is ready for a better story. We are ready for a President Kamala Harris.

Mr. Obama’s speech was met with chants of, “Yes, she can.” People – no matter their age – are fed up with racism, misogyny, and chaos. We are ready for change.

Remember, Friend: Young people will be the reason Democrats like Kamala Harris and Tim Walz win this November.

Future Coalition is here at the DNC, and we’re excited to share exciting projects we’ve been working on!
