It's Tuesday again, which means we're using our platform to promote community organizations and charitable causes working to be agents of goodwill through this difficult time.
But first, we want to thank you for helping us empower these causes.
Because of grassroots donors like you, these organizations can continue doing their critical work of helping our neighbors.
In times as tough as ours, it's important that we stand together and practice compassion for not just our families and neighbors but strangers, too. In that spirit, we'd like to help
Otsego County's COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Fund raise money for their efforts.
What's particularly great about this organization is that their board members and volunteers will be matching donations up to $30,000.
Here are just a few ways your support will be used:
- Support for medical workers, EMTs, police, firefighters, and others working in essential industries who are risking their own health to serve the community;
- Funding for preventative measures like education and sanitary supplies;
- Support for vulnerable populations by way of meal delivery and daily living support for homebound families; and
- Support for workers, especially low-wage workers, to tackle the lack of health care access, paid sick leave, proper safety equipment, and the economic impact of quarantine and social distancing.
Your donation will go to supporting realtime support efforts and once the pandemic subsides, the organization will shift its work to supporting recovery efforts across the county.
