This is personal to me.

I served as Secretary of State, and before that, I was Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman. I served in the Senate with people like Joe Biden, who had studied foreign policy since we were young, because we knew it mattered. I know the importance of having national security experts in Congress.

That's why I'm all in to help re-elect Andy Kim. We need Andy in Congress at a time when that bench had grown a little lonely. We need his expertise, and we need his values.

Andy could have gone anywhere in life. He chose the hard road of public service, in hard places: working on the ground in Afghanistan, bringing his judgment to the Pentagon, and ultimately to the White House and the Situation Room to help our country navigate some of the most complex national security challenges in generations. Our country was safer and more secure because of him.

Now, the world is a mess again. With an administration that has taken a haphazard at best approach to foreign policy, it's more important than ever to have a leader like Andy in Congress. Not only is he delivering results for working families, he's continuing to be a vital voice to protect our country's national interests.

Republicans know that the only way they're going to defeat Andy is to attack him with huge sums of dirty money to smear him. In fact, just this month, a Republican super PAC announced plans to spend over $6 million on ads in Andy's media market!

There are big problems to fix in America right now, but small actions can make a difference. That's why I'm asking you to chip in $5 or whatever you can today to help re-elect Andy Kim and defeat the special interests.

We don't know what these ads against Andy are going to say yet, but I doubt they'll mention he played a leading role in building the global war against ISIS, bringing together more than 60 countries to confront the most complex national security threat of our time. And they probably won't mention that he advised both President Obama and Vice President Biden to help keep our country secure.

Instead, these national Republicans just want to tear down Andy for their own partisan gain. I've had enough of it, and I bet you have too.
